1. City Hall Building - Durham, NC
The project consisted of an initial investigation and evaluation of the construction of the exterior brick masonry veneer walls. The investigation determined major deficiencies in the through-wall flashing and in the vertical expansion joints. As part of the evaluation, a report was prepared summarizing all findings and recommendations, along with a budget estimate for all repair work.
As a follow-up to the investigation, Engineered Concepts was retained to prepare construction drawings for repairs to the exterior brick masonry walls. After receipt of bids, Engineered Concepts oversaw construction of the repair work.
Construction on the project was completed in 1997. The estimated project cost was $750,000.00
2. Bell Tower Repairs - St. Benedict’s Catholic Church - Greensboro, NC
The project consisted of the reconstruction of the top portion of the two bell towers on the front side of the St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Greensboro, NC. Engineered Concepts was the prime designer and prepared all construction drawings for the repair work. After receipt of bids, Engineered Concepts oversaw construction of the repair work.
Construction on the project was completed in 1996. The estimated project cost is $120,000.00.
3.Brick Masonry Evaluation and Repairs - American Express Service Center - Greensboro, NC
The project consisted of an initial investigation and evaluation of the construction of the exterior brick masonry veneer walls. The investigation determined deficiencies in the vertical and horizontal expansion joints, the brick anchors system, as well as minor problems with the through-wall flashing system. s part of the evaluation, a report was prepared summarizing all findings and recommendations, along with a budget estimate for all repair work.
As a follow-up to the investigation, Engineered Concepts was retained to prepare construction drawings for repairs to the exterior brick masonry walls. After receipt of bids, Engineered Concepts oversaw construction of the repair work.
The first phase of repairs was completed this fall. Additional work is to be undertaken in future years.
