1. Pedestrian Bridge Replacement- City of Durham, North Carolina

The project consisted of the removal and replacement of two pedestrian bridges in a City Park in Durham, North Carolina. The replacement bridges were designed to accommodate light vehicle loading for maintenance trucks.

Engineered Concepts was the structural engineer of record for this project. Our work included the complete design and preparation of construction drawings for the removal and replacement of the bridge structures. Construction on the project was completed in 2002.

2. Durham Athletic Park- City of Durham, North Carolina

The project consisted of a complete structural evaluation of the existing roof structure on the Durham Athletic Park located in Durham, North Carolina. The Park is a baseball facility that is home to the Durham Bulls triple-A baseball team. The roof structure is constructed of light-gauge metal roofing that is supported on structural steel beams and cantilevered trusses.

Engineered Concepts was the structural engineer of record for this project. Our work included the complete analysis of the roof structure and the preparation of a written report summarizing the findings and conclusions of the evaluation. The project was completed in 1999.

3. Natural Science Center Loading Dock Addition- Greensboro, North Carolina

The project consisted of a loading dock addition to the rear side of the Natural Science Center Building in Greensboro, North Carolina. The loading dock was needed because the existing floor structure inside the building was not capable of supporting the weight of forklift trucks that were used to unload trucks carrying displays for the center. The loading dock included pedestrian and truck access, and was covered with a roof.

Engineered Concepts was the structural engineer of record for this project. Our work included the complete design and preparation of construction documents for the new loading dock addition. Construction on the project was completed in 2000.

4. Canteen Addition and Renovation - City of Greensboro Service Center-Greensboro, North Carolina

The project consisted of renovations and additions to the Service Center for the City of Greensboro, North Carolina. The addition of approximately 2,760 square feet included a canteen and storage facilities. Existing interior spaces renovated include portions of the existing service center building. New construction consisted of one-story with masonry exterior walls, steel superstructure, single-ply roofing, aluminum storefront and windows, millwork, pool, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and sitework, as well as finishes and other materials and products.

Engineered Concepts was the structural engineer of record for this project. Our services were provided to an Architect.

5. Evaluation of Brick Masonry Conditions - Park Superintendent’s Residence -Hagan Stone Park-Greensboro, North Carolina

The project consisted of an evaluation of the conditions causing the cracking of the brick masonry foundation walls in the Park Superintendent’s Residence at Hagan Stone Park. Engineered Concepts directed a subsurface investigation of the conditions around the residence, and prepared a follow-up report with recommendations for remedial repairs to the residence.

6. Railroad Depot Building Relocation and Renovations -City of Hamlet, North Carolina

The project consisted of a structural evaluation of an existing train depot building located in Hamlet, North Carolina. Following the evaluation, plans were prepared for the relocation and renovation of the depot building. The building was relocated from its original position to a new location on the opposite side of the railroad tracks. A new basement was constructed beneath the building. The building is to be used as a visitors center.

Engineered Concepts was the structural engineer of record for the project. Our services were provided to an Architect. The project is currently under construction.

7. Herbst House Relocation and Renovation - Old Salem-Winston-Salem, North Carolina

The project consisted of a structural evaluation of an existing 150 year old house in historic Old Salem, North Carolina. Following the evaluation, plans were prepared of the relocation and renovation of the house. The house is to be used as a visitors center with a candle shop in the basement.

Engineered Concepts was the structural engineer of record for the project. Our services were provided to an Architect. The project was completed in 2002.
