1. Loading Dock Addition – Sheet Distribution Center, Fieldcrest Cannon Mills, Kannapolis, NC:
Project included the addition of four new loading docks on the upper floor of an existing warehouse building. Engineered Concepts was the prime design firm for the client. The project construction was completed in 1999.
2. Dye House Building Evaluation and Repairs, Doran Textiles, Shelby, NC:
Project included the evaluation of an existing concrete structure used as a dye facility. Evaluation led to the determination that repairs were required to the building structure. The repairs were never undertaken and the plant eventually closed. Engineered Concepts was the structural engineering consultants for the project. The project was completed in 1995.
3. Dye House Addition, Spartan Mills, Spartanburg, SC:
Project included a new dye house addition at an existing plant. Engineered Concepts was the structural engineering consultant for the client on this project. The project construction was completed in 1996.
4. Raw Stock Dye House Evaluation and Repairs, Cone Mills – White Oak Plant, Greensboro, NC:
Project included the evaluation of an existing structure used as a dye facility. The evaluation led to the determination that repairs were needed to the building structure. Engineered Concepts was the structural engineering consultant for the client on this project. A portion of the building structure was repaired and completed in 1994.
5. Sulzer Looms Beaming Room Floor Replacement, Cone Mills Plant, Salisbury, NC:
Project included the removal of an existing floor structure and construction of a new floor to support new replacement looms in the weaving building. Engineered Concepts was the structural engineering consultant for the client on this project. The project construction was completed in 1994.
6. Truck Service Bay Addition, Cone Mills Transportation Unit, Greensboro, NC:
Project included a 4-bay truck service garage addition, including new building, fueling island, and service bay pits. Engineered Concepts was the prime designer for this project. The project was completed in 1995.
7. Floor Replacement, Cotton Storage Warehouses #13, #15, #16, and #33, Cone Mills – White Oak Plant, Greensboro, NC:
Projects included upfit of existing cotton storage warehouses, including removal and replacement of existing elevated floors, re-support of the existing roof structure, and reconstruction of the exterior walls. Engineered Concepts was the structural engineering consultant for the client. The project construction was completed over several years, with the last warehouse in 1996.
8. Dye Room Floor Repairs, Cone Mills – Granite Finishing Plant, Haw River, NC:
Project included the evaluation and repairs to an existing concrete floor structure over a dryer in the dye room. Engineered Concepts was the structural engineering consultants for the client. Construction was completed in 1996.
9. Tank Containment Basins, Cone Mills – White Oak Plant, Greensboro, NC:
Project included the design of containment structures for dye and chemical storage tanks. Engineered Concepts was the structural engineering consultant for the client. The project construction was completed in 1995.
